Between September 22nd and 25th, 2024, the Rebouças Convention Center in São Paulo hosted the 59th Congress of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine (MedTrop). The event brought together specialists, researchers, and healthcare professionals to discuss essential topics related to tropical diseases and public health in Brazil.
The journal Epidemiologia e Serviços de Saúde: revista do SUS (RESS) was present at the Ministry of Health’s booth. During the event, attendees were able to clarify doubts regarding article submission, the editorial process, and RESS’s scientific publications. Promotional materials were also distributed, and a raffle was held for complete kits of the journal, attracting a large number of visitors throughout the event.
On the 23rd, RESS editors participated in a roundtable discussion focused on best publishing practices, addressing important aspects of the relationship between authors and editors, contributing to the improvement of science and academic production in the country. On the 24th, the journal also participated in a presentation on the technical publications of the Health and Environment Surveillance Secretariat of the Ministry of Health (SVSA/MS).
RESS thanks the congress participants for their warm welcome and interest, and emphasizes the importance of the results achieved during the event. The team is looking forward to the next edition of MedTrop, which will take place in 2025 in João Pessoa.
