The journal Epidemiologia e Serviços de Saúde: revista do SUS (RESS) announces a Call for Papers in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian Population.
The publication of these articles aims to widely disseminate new knowledge about the Dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian Population, and to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Objective
This call for papers aims to disseminate research results that have produced evidence on the formulation, implementation, and outcomes of the Dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian Population in promoting adequate and healthy eating practices. Priority will be given to articles that offer relevant knowledge for public health, employing approaches that explore the potential and challenges of the Dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian Population.

Articles accepted for publication in this call for papers will be free of charge for authors. The articles will follow all stages of the editorial workflow recommended by RESS. Manuscripts submitted under this call for papers will have their editorial process prioritized (fast-tracking).
Deadlines and system for submission
Articles should be submitted through the RESS submission system, available at: https://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/ress-scielo , indicating “Call for Papers: 10 Years of the Food Guide” in the cover letter. Articles for this Call for Papers can be submitted between July 1st and August 25th, 2024.
Items to be covered by this call:
• Studies on the creation and implementation of the Dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian Population within the scope of the Unified Health System (SUS);
• Studies that consider the principles of the Food Guide, namely: (1) food is more than nutrient intake; (2) recommendations on food should be in tune with their time; (3) adequate and healthy food derives from a socially and environmentally sustainable food system; (4) different forms of knowledge generate the knowledge for the formulation or implementation of food guides; and (5) food guides increase autonomy in food choices;
• Studies on the implementation of the Dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian Population within the scope of the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS);
• Studies on the implementation of the Dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian Population within the context of health professional training;
• Studies on Food and Nutritional Surveillance within the scope of the Food Guide;
• Studies on the evolution of epidemiological indicators of the Brazilian population, using the Dietary Guidelines as a time frame.
