Last Monday (December 12th), the RESS 30 Years exhibition was launched at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Brasília (FS/UnB). Established in 1992 as the Epidemiological Report of the SUS (IESUS), in 2003, with the creation of the Health Surveillance Secretariat of the Ministry of Health (SVS/MS), RESS adopted the name and scientific character it currently possesses.
To commemorate the date, in addition to the change in the magazine’s visual identity, an exhibition was prepared at UnB (University of Brasília) that explains the entire trajectory of RESS, listing important milestones.
The opening panel consisted of Fátima Sonally Sousa Gondim (General Coordinator of Epidemiology Development in Services/CGDEP and Executive Editor of RESS), Lelly Guzman (PAHO/WHO Brazil), Arnaldo Medeiros (Secretary of Health Surveillance/Ministry of Health), Solange Baraldi (Vice-Director of FS/UnB), Breno Soares (Director of the Department of Strategic Articulation of Health Surveillance/DAEVS), and Cynthia Braga (Editor-in-Chief of RESS).
During the event, the speakers’ presentations highlighted the importance of RESS for the Unified Health System (SUS) and for advancing scientific dissemination throughout the country.
Tributes were also paid and awards were given to individuals and institutions that, over these 30 years, have directly contributed to the advancement and growth of RESS.
The exhibition is open to everyone and will be on display at FS/UnB, on the Darcy Ribeiro campus, until March 29, 2023.
