Call for Papers in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Training Program in Epidemiology applied to the Brazilian Unified Health System (EpiSUS).

The journal Epidemiology and Health Services: SUS Journal (RESS) announces a Call for Articles in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Training Program in Epidemiology applied to SUS Services (EpiSUS).

The publication of these articles aims to encourage the production and dissemination of knowledge generated at the Intermediate and Advanced levels of EpiSUS, and to celebrate its silver jubilee.

Objective

This call aims to encourage scientific production and dissemination of knowledge generated by professionals in training and graduates of the Intermediate and Advanced levels of EpiSUS, in the context of training, specifically from field investigations carried out from 2015 to 2025.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of EpiSUS, this call for papers seeks to gather evidence on the program’s practical activities in health surveillance and public health emergency response in Brazil. Selected articles will contribute to valuing the field research conducted by epidemiologists trained by EpiSUS and to disseminating best practices and lessons learned over this period.

Manuscript processing

Articles submitted and approved for publication in this call for papers will be free of charge for the authors. The articles will follow all stages of the editorial workflow recommended by RESS.

Deadlines and websites for submission

Manuscript submissions for RESS should be made through the SciELO Publishing System, available at: https://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/ress-scielo , indicating “EpiSUS 25 anos” before the article title, which should be provided during the submission process. Manuscripts may be submitted between April 7, 2025 and July 31, 2025.

Items to be covered by this call

  • Original, unpublished articles produced by graduates or professionals in training at the EpiSUS Advanced and Intermediate levels will be accepted .
  • The articles should address topics related to the performance of professionals in outbreak investigations conducted during their training in EpiSUS, specifically investigations carried out from 2015 to 2025 .
  • The first author of the article, responsible for submitting a proposal to this Call for Proposals, must be the first or second investigator in the field activity in question.
