On January 26th and 27th, 2025, Brasília will host the 2nd National Seminar on Trans Visibility. The event, which will take place in commemoration of the National Day of Trans Visibility, celebrated on January 29th, is a joint initiative of the National Secretariat for the Rights of LGBTQIA+ People of the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship, the Ministry of Health, other ministries, the UN Brazil system, and social movements of trans people. The seminar’s objective is to strengthen the dissemination of public policies and campaigns of the Federal Government in favor of the rights of trans and transvestite people.
On January 26th (Sunday), the 2nd Trans March will be held at Praça dos Três Poderes, organized by social movements of trans people, with the support of political leaders and the Federal Government. Representatives from Epidemiology and Health Services: SUS Magazine (RESS) will be present, promoting the magazine at the event’s stand. On January 27th (Monday), a Public Hearing will be held in the National Congress in commemoration of the National Day of Trans Visibility, followed by a ceremony by the Federal Government in honor of the National Day of Trans Visibility.
During the ceremony, the official launch of the Special Issue of RESS, celebrating 20 years of Trans Visibility in Brazil, will take place. This special edition brings together 29 articles addressing various aspects of health and care offered to transgender and transvestite people in the country.
