In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Revista Epidemiologia e Serviços de Saúde (RESS) and the 25th anniversary of the Revista Brasileira de Epidemiologia (Epidemio), a joint call for original articles addressing “Analysis of health survey data” will be opened. The editors seek creative and thought-provoking papers that explore data from health surveys to offer new and relevant knowledge for Public Health. Researchers will have from March 28 to April 15, 2024 to submit their work.
For the special issue, 15 articles will be selected for publication in the Revista Brasileira de Epidemiologia (Epidemio), at no cost to authors. The papers will undergo the traditional editorial review stages and will be published in Portuguese and English.
Which papers will be considered in this call?
- Studies that have used data from health surveys for epidemiological analysis. The surveys may be national or regional.
- Innovative articles that seek to go beyond what is already established in the literature.
- Descriptive or analytical studies, provided they are supported by a good research question, a solid theoretical foundation and rigorous data collection and analysis methods.
Which papers will not be considered in this call?
- Highly localized studies, such as those conducted in a particular neighborhood or health facility.
- Studies with non-probabilistic samples.
- Studies without a clear and scientifically grounded justification for their conduct.
- Studies with already known results or that reproduce epidemiological bulletins.
- Studies measuring disease frequency with the last year of analysis prior to 2018.
